1. Welcome
BWRealm is an unofficial, volunteer-run community for fans and modders of Black & White (2001), Black & White 2 (2005), and related games. By creating an account or browsing the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use BWRealm.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft, Lionhead Studios, or Electronic Arts. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to register an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done from your account.
- One person, one account. Don't impersonate other users, real people, or staff.
- We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community.
3. Content you post
You keep the copyright in everything you write or upload — forum posts, mods, screenshots, reviews. By posting, you grant BWRealm a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content as part of the site, and to allow other users to download and use mods you publish under their stated terms.
You promise that the content you post:
- Is yours, or you have permission from the author.
- Does not contain malware, exploits, miners, or anything that harms users' computers.
- Does not infringe copyright, trademarks, or other rights — see our DMCA policy.
- Does not include hate speech, harassment, doxxing, or sexual content involving minors.
4. Mods and downloads
Mods are submitted by community members and reviewed by moderators before going public. We do our best to catch obvious problems, but we cannot guarantee any mod is bug-free, safe, or compatible with your installation. Install mods at your own risk. Always back up your save files.
Mods are free. Selling mods, paywalling them, or using BWRealm to run a paid storefront is not allowed.
5. Acceptable use
Don't do any of the following on BWRealm:
- Scrape, mass-download, or hammer the API beyond reasonable limits.
- Try to break, exploit, or probe the site for vulnerabilities (unless you're responsibly disclosing — in which case, write to us).
- Use the platform to advertise unrelated products, run scams, or solicit donations to third parties.
- Harass, threaten, or dox other users.
6. Moderation
Moderators may remove posts, lock threads, reject mods, or ban accounts at their discretion when something violates these Terms or harms the community. We try to be fair and explain ourselves, but BWRealm is a private community — we are not obligated to host content we don't want to host.
7. The site itself
BWRealm is provided “as is”, with no warranty of any kind. We are a hobby project — uptime, features, and content can change without notice. We are not liable for lost saves, broken installations, lost forum posts, or any other damage that may result from using the site or anything downloaded through it. Use it the way you'd use any other community modding site: with backups and common sense.
8. Termination
You can close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in the forum. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Contact
